How to play Battlezone 2 with a gamepad?

I've searched through the old threads up til a year ago, but couldn't find anyone playing BZ2 with an MS Sidewinder Gamepad.

Did anyone get it to work, and if yes, can you tell me how?

Playing this game with a joystick and mouse is a bit cumbersome

I've been using it a long time ago... i wasn't liking that at too much, it was hard to control... but i'll let you judge about that.

I think the way to make it work is to manually set 1 by 1 all settings to the gamepad... i'll check it back in a few mins to give you more details.

It should'nt be a great deal to make it work... i've just checked back and in the input section there's a pre-defined joystick. Once it is loaded the most important settings seem's to be set... maybe only the sensitivity will be to adjust... i had to put my gamepad very high to get an acceptable level.

FWIW, I kinda always thought the game was a breeze with a mouse and kybd...too bad the game was ruined by online hacks & cheating, as it was one of the best 1-on-1 games there was.

Well, to be honest, I'm giving it a try now with keyboard&mouse, for the gamepad didn't work, and for some reason my joystick doesn't work either.

Would I be a BZII junkie then?
