  • OpenGL slow under NT4

    System:
    PII-400
    8Mb MGA G200 -AGP
    256 Mb Ram
Dual boots between Windows 98SE and NT4

Under Windows 98, the Quake 3 timedemo clocks up about 32fps, whereas under NT4 it only clocks up 17fps. I have the latest Matrox drivers. I had assumed that this was an NT related problem. However, I have recently tried out a Geforce2MX card, and the fps are virtually the same under NT4 as under Win98: in fact the NT system is about 3fps faster.
Why should the Matrox NT driver be slower? Is it a problem with my system? Anyone any ideas?

Have you ever tried Windows 2000?

And, um, ok, I had thought of something helpful to say, but I've forgot, so I'll leave this as possibly the least helpful post ever...

I haven't tried Win2000. I have tried Win3.0, Win3.1, Win95, Win98 and NT4. To be honest I am fed up with buying Microsoft operating systems: Bill Gates has had quite enough of my money.
