I'll pop in, on UK time here of course.

Never played on an MU server, failed to connect last time I tried. Played dZeus on his server though - that was...fun(?)

I'll guarantee an exceedingly crappy ping, but I'll be cannon fodder for the crappiest of the crap

Eh... gosh the nostalgia just makes you want to cry... puke, or something like that.

Hmm... I think I could probably suffer through a few humiliating beatings from Kindness and Snake.

I support the suggestion that we wait a week or so to let the news get out, unless we want to try and start making it a weekly thing again. (mostly I say this cause I will be out of town this weekend and I'd like to be a part of the fun )

BTW, will someone be hosting a GV channel for when we play? I went out and bought this thing so long ago and now I hardly ever use it, hehe.

Anyway, I'll keep a closer eye on the boards and watch for updates, so let us know when you finalize the plans.

          Ok, here's what I think.

We can meet in IRC this weekend and play, but the "Official" reunion will be the following weekend (The weekend of 6/23/01). I want to see if we can get in touch with some of the guys that haven't been around in a while, and that may take some time.

If you know where some of the old gang have wandered off to, please let them know. I would post this in some of the other MURC forums since I believe that a lot of them don't come to the Gaming section, but I would probably get spanked for cross posting or posting in the wrong forum. I would like to find out what happened to "Manifest", "Dr. Carnage", "Haig", "Beezer", and the others that we don't see much. Maybe we could even persuade Jordan to come out of retirement.

I know that Ace (aka "Snake-Eyes") is in the process of a move to Chicago. He is hoping to have his high speed connection up in the next week or two. I will get in touch with him and tell him to move it along.

Item number 2 will be the server. If the MGI is still buggy we need to have a back-up. If anyone can procure a high RAM system and T1+ connection for a big game, we could DEFINATELY use it. I have my ear to the ground for one right now, but nothing definite yet. I know that the MGI server was getting a little too bloated and that kinda scared people off, so we need one that has as little fluff as possible. We don't need to have people spend the first hour downloading all of the skins and mods that they have to have to play.

This is your assignment if you choose to accept it. This message will self destruct in 5 seconds.

How many players do you estimate will be playing? I am interested in playing. I have a server that is capable of 14-16 players normally, depending on the phase of the moon and hoping the river don't rise.

              Thanks Brian!

As you see there were 14 of us in that screen shot (and one taking the pic makes 15). If we can get even half of those and then all of the new guys, I would expect 14-20 players. If we have to rotate in I am sure that that would be cool. Maybe we can get on your server this weekend and give it a stress test.

              What do ya say?
Everyone at Elvis' place on Friday night? If we do it at 8 or 9 Central US Time will any of our overseas friends be able to make it, or should we make it earlier in the evening?

                Kruzin:
Is there a way that I can get the word out on the other boards? I would like to post something on TSB, but I don't think it will fly over there since it is technically a gaming thing.

What's your IP address Elvis? I might finally go out and pick up UT if I could get a good ping to the server and you guys start playing weekly.

Well, if you guys can make it 6-7 Central US time, that`d be peachy. That is, if our Albanian "Friends" here decide not to make my life a "Real Tournament" ( the shooting is getting pretty close to where i live ). But i`ll try to make it even if you guys come later.

BTW Xortam Elvis` IP is 216.27.135.150

Sounds like a blast! I haven't been around much lately, but I'm far from dead. I'd love to join in, but I'll be out of town this weekend and next weekend (possibly back by next Saturday night 6/23). If I'm back in time, I'll be there with my shock rifle ready

BTW, I believe I have ICQ addresses for Dr. Carnege and Millenium Man and a few others...

                        Cool Beezer!
If you could fire off a note to let them know to take a look at this thread, it would be appreciated!

The day for the "official" game isn't set , so maybe we can make it on that Saturday 6-23-01 (my b-day by the way).

because of the time plan... can we switch over to .beat ?

I'm sure that would make things easier

OK, for you it will be @41

I like that idea of "Internet Time". It makes sense that we should all subscribe to one clock and it would be easier if it is a different format than the standard time. Good find!

We already all "subscribe to one clock"; its called GMT or UTC. Almost all enterprise software is coded using UTC.

Thanks for the address oR. Anybody know when the server is up so I can run some ping tests?
