When playing on LAN I use the TFC shortcut. On the internet Gamespy3D launches it for me.
Is there a difference?

Yes, there is a difference.

Try launching TFC with just the shortcut on your desktop and join a game, see if the texture mess is still there.

OpenGL No Longer Works Here Either!

Alright guys... I installed Microsoft Windows XP Release Candidate 2, Build 2526. I did this on Friday and spent the whole weekend restoring everything to how I had it in Windows 2000. I've used Windows 2000 since October 2000 and it had worked very well for all those months. Now that I have updated to XP, HL does not let me use OpenGL in any mods at any resolution. I am using the 5.39 final Windows 2000 Drivers released June 12th. I can use Direct 3D but that sucks since my actions are delayed several seconds... Plus, I love OpenGL and how much better it looks. Anyway, have any of you guys had any bugs like this in XP with OpenGL and Half-Life: Counter-Strike? I need to play, damnit! Aarrrrgh!

Another Question...

Windows XP automatically detected all of my hardware and it worked from the first time I booted into the desktop. But being who I am, I wanted to have AudioHQ for my SBL! and PowerDesk for my Marvel, since I use it for video editing, and am forced to use it as a 3D Card since it's AGP. Is there a way for me to change the drivers for my card back to the included MS WDM Drivers without getting rid of PowerDesk and all the neato Matrox Utils and features? I was successful with the SoundBlaster Live! because a friend told me how to hack some driver files to get AudioHQ without eliminating the Windows XP drivers for the soundcard. So can I do this with my Marvel G400-TV drivers, too?

(Sorry for any mental sounds caused.)

btw, how/why did changing ram affect the game?
and isn't TFC just so totally absolutally boring - objectively speaking, of course.

Hint: Win2K drivers are for Win2k, NOT WinXP. Either go back to Win2K, or wait for WinXP to be a real OS, and Matrox to realease official drivers for that OS.

Aw maaaan... That's funny.

They barely made Windows 2000 drivers for my Marvel G400-TV, and they are definitely not going to make XP drivers. And so far, 2K drivers have worked for other devices in XP since XP is just 2002 and built from 2000's kernel... But Matrox's half-assed 2K drivers definitely are not working in XP. First they decide to disable the feature I got my G400-TV for, and now I can't even play games in bad 3D... Looks like it's time for a GeForce 3 and time to wait for a real nice WDM PCI capture card to come out... Jeez, I wish for once, a company I buy something from would actually support the hardware I buy from them for more than a month. When I had my Voodoo 3 3500 TV AGP they like sold out to nVidia the next day. WTF. Then I got a Marvel G400-TV and matrox would tell me "Wait until May for drivers." June 12th finally came when they released their crippled drivers for my $300 card, and now I can't even use it for slow gaming! Does anyone have the address for Matrox's main headquarters? I think I am going to call my Palestinian friend to come over here and see if he can help me make some points to Matrox by making something out of a shoebox and some of the circuitry of their stupid G400-TV card...

Ermm... shouldn't this be a new thread?

I still can't use HL in OpenGL with Win2K

Well I figured "Why?"

I saw this thread going already, and it is basically the same problem. No OpenGL in HL in Win2K kernel. When I had Windows 2000, it ran fine in OpenGL, but now it stopped when I upgraded to XP (2002). Basically the same bug, you know? Oh, and Kruzin, sorry for the offensive comments I posted on the last post, but I am very angry that people just take $300 from me and then rip me off. I am not rich, otherwise I wouldn't care.

We might listen to you more if you
1) Were more respectful to us. We're NOT Matrox, just users.
2) Were were using a non-warezed OS.

Who's warezing anything!??!

Microsoft had a beta testing program called "Windows Preview Program" where you sent them ten U$D for RC1 and RC2, and they would let you download off their servers. As far as I can tell, I have been pretty curtious and respectful... I haven't directly insulted ir dissed anyone. I haven't even used anyone's name but Kruzin's... to apologize. I post at VCDHelp all the time, sometimes at matrox's forums, and sometimes here... If you look at my posts, they are all about the same and with the same tone. I am not yelling or using caps or being rude, I don't think. So if I offended you, Wombat, I apologize to you, too. Also, I suggest you do some more thinking before you blindly accuse someone of pirating software...
I usually never come here unless I need help. At VCDhelp I am usually the one helping people, and I don't just tell them to switch OSes and stop pirating software. If I don't know a solution I post just that... "I don't know.", not just "Switch back to 2000." That's not really help if I do that, now is it?
So it seems we all got started out on the wrong foot here, eh? Perhaps we could start again with none of the bad mojo lingering around us.

mea culpa

I was just kind of thrown when you mentioned your anger, and left it so that (to me) it sounded like you were satisfied to direct it at us. It is a common thing here, but it's still not okay for me to make the assumption.
Have you tried the new beta drivers that are supposed to be for XP?

No hay problema!

No prob, man. Anyway... beta drivers? There are new beta drivers out for Windows XP for Marvel G400-TV or is it one of those unified driver packs that updates the drivers for like every card except Marvels? Hehe... they have lots of those. Pretty annoying when the drivers for every matrox card get updated except the one you bought, eh? Anyway, would you be so kind as to direct me with a hyperlink to these beta drivers? I will also checkthe front page of this site to see if they are there, since I haven't been checking the front of the page because I only come back here to reply when I get the notification email that someone has replied. And thanks.
