  • G450DH and TFC under Win2K

I apologise - I am sure this will have been hashed out a million and one times here before.

I am running a DH G450 (32MB DDR) in Win2K (Dual 17" AOC Spectrum 7Glr Monitors) and it works a treat. I love it at 2560*1024*32*85.

However, when I run TFC (think Halflife) it won't accept OpenGL or anything other than Software video. I am pretty sure something can be done but can't work out what.

    Extra Info:
    Matrox BIOS - v1.3.023
    Matrox Drivers - 5.12.01.1510
    PowerDesk - 5.51.005

    Ask for anything else

    Cheers and apologies

    TIA

    John

    Disable the secondary monitor.
OGL only works in single screen mode.

Nope - Still says OpenGL mode is not supported by your card..

        Any other suggestions?

          Upgrade...

Using 5.52 drivers everything works fine.

Shoved in the new drivers, put it to one monitor only (I like to look at email while I play). Got OpenGL working fine.

It has made no difference though - It is the same frame rate (if not slower) that with software!

Darn - I was hoping to get well above 30fps (1024*768)

Ok, then it should be running in software.
The only time I saw that is when I had Netmeeting screw up my 3d acceleration.
Run->dxdiag and go to Display 1. See if you have Direct3D acceleration.

I am sure it does this to annoy me - Display 2 has it enabled - I'll try that on its own...

Grrr - Now got it enabled on both - Runs but at a paltry 25 fps...

(Off to try D3D which was at 4 fps previously)
