Try gl_round_down "3". I remember gl_round_down "0" would cause HL to crash on my G400. 3 was the default and it worked fine after I set it back to the default. I didn't have stuttering problems, but you might want to give it a try. Actually, I was also using TurboGL with 5.52 for quite some time, and gl_round_down "0" worked fine in that. But after I switched to Win2K, TurboGL didn't work (not supported in Win2K). So I had to go back to using the ICD in the drivers. After that, I spent days tearing my hair out since HL kept crashing whenever I tried to start a game. Eventually I just went through the opengl.cfg and changed the settings one-by-one back to default and found gl_round_down was the cause of my troubles.

BTW, the fps_lan and fps_modem settings no longer work. They were used in old HL (pre-1.1 versions). Now there is one command to limit fps, which is fps_max.

Gore Demo v1.31 Probs /w new Betas?

My system freezes, when it didn't before with the earilier PD 6.72 (I think) or 6.71.

Mind you, some Gore demo servers have gone really stupid (non-stock mods and such), and those are the ones I seem to be crashing on.

Serious Sam Demo2 is solid (I think I am in D3D mode though), and I have yet to return to playing Quake3 and Baldur's Gate 2.
