If you got 13/15 against him, you're probably actually better than I am.

I actually beat him later that day. Being that he was so good with line of sight weapons, I concentrated on using grenades and the razorjack. Even if I was face to face with him, it only took one well placed blade to rip his damn head off. Now, if only I can defeat Return to Na Pali. 16 out of 41 games/mission packs defeated.

My ISP is now offering a 1.5/256 residential DHCP ADSL package for only $59.95. I know, I know, it's more than I paid for higher bandwidth when I had cable in Virginia, but around here, it's the best I can get right now. And it's only $10 more a month than the 768/128 I have right now. I just signed up, and according to the sales people it should be enabled within 24 to 48 hours.

Why'd I post this in this UT topic? Simple, I may finally host a server (not permanent, but maybe we could schedule some nights or evenings)

BTW, this will help my UT no matter what, since my wife has started to join me in online play lately. I found that my 768/128 isn't good enough for two people on a server running UTPure. When we're not fighting it pings <100 for both of us, but as soon as the action starts, our pings fluctuate all over the place, from the <100 all the way to 1000+. I think it's the upload cap, but I guess I'll find out for sure once this upgrade is finished.

good luck on gettin more than one on your connection at a time to play ut with. when i lived with my ex-bf & ex-roommate we had that problem nonstop and there was no way to fix it the company said. we had a cap on our upload too. if we had more than one pc playing ut at a time the pings would always increase to 600-1500. so eventually we all gave up.

and Bry also claims that Comcast has a packet loss issue. I'd be willing to bet a saturated node is exasperating those problems... not that the 128k cap was the real problem for a couple three players. With Comcast (ex @Home) if ya don't constantly yell about the issues daily they'll ignor the problems and won't fix sheit.

I remember trying out UT on the MGI server when it was still running. I had a 40 ping and everyone had 200+. I managed to get one or two kills and maybe 15 deaths?
