DIablo 2 locks up after 10 minutes

Since upgrading to XP Pro

Diablo 2 locks up after 5 minutes

When I restart machine I get Microsoft Error Message

Computer restarted after an uxepected shutdown
Microsoft windows detected a possible device failure
Error signature Drivers Display G400HD.dll

The driver for the display device was unable to complete a drawing operation. Please check with the device manufacturer for a driver update. I am using the driver for XP, have tried other drivers same problem

Athlon 600@800 (same problem before yesterdays overclock)
Asus K7m
Matrox g400
Ram 256mb
Pinnacle Rave TV Pro
20 Gb hard drive
250w power supply

Well, if you've already got a problem, don't exasperate it by overclocking. I'm a big fan of OCing myself, but you

1) Already have a problem with your system
2) Are running a power-hungry CPU off of a 250W PS
3) Have mixed-brand chipsets on your motherboard.


Anyway, locks up how? Frozen image? What about sound? What kind of sound card?

Image freezes
Sound still plays-soundblaster live
The technical info said something about directdraw being caught in infinite loop

My M8 got one of these Ninja micro thingies and he overclocked my machine yesterday-no other problems have arisen

My son plays Diablo 2 on his Athlon 1600+ all day long
My other boy plays it on another Athlon 600 like mine again no problems

I don't know but some people were forced to force AGP 1X after upgrading to XP.

Try forcing AGP 1X with the tweak utility.

I don't know really because I don't have a G400 nowadays.
