  • D2 fps rates

I have a problem. I get decent 70+ fps in CS, over 90 in UT and 60ish in Q3...so why do i only get 25fps with skip at 25?!!?!?!

i don't know why this is happening.

    i have a g400 32MB AGP

    System:
    Win98SE
    tbird 800mhz
    Asus A7V KT133 1008-E
    1 x 256 PC133 Crucial SDRAM
    G400 Millenium 32MB AGP
    SBLive!
    Linksys NIC
    WD 20.5GB 5400 HD
    etc...

i'm wondering if anyone else has this problem or knows how to solve this?

i know someone who has a g400max (172/216) and he gets 80fps with 0 SKIP!

EDIT: my g400 btw is at 144/177

No wonder his frame rates are bad, D2 is for Dreamcast only...

        Is your V-sync off?
        It helps squeeze some fps
(or try setting your colour to 16-bit)

          Wow!

Those are some impresive frame counts, how much better would a G550 do?

The G550 is slower than the G400Max... about the same as a vannilla G400

Believe me. Diablo is really poooooorly coded game. The fps depends on your internet connection ( when playing online ) + the action going on the screen.

I have a Radeon 8500LE(285/295) and on a 1.35G TB i get anything from 100-150fps in town.. but when going out there its jumping 25-40-60. This game WILL not run better on ANY D3D-card.

It was designed for 3Dfx's Glide and that will get you the best results over ANY GF3/GF4/ATI/[insert card here].

There are some program tweaks that you can use to turn off shadows etc.. dont remember where you could donwload that prog, but just look for it and you find it. This will help A LOT if you have a slow processor ( i sometimes play D2-lod with my brothers 366 celeron+TNT2 and without that prog it just D-I-E-S ).
