  • Medal of Honor - EA speaks

    From EA technical support:

<i>"Thank you for sending your concerns regarding Medal of Honor.

Unfortunately, the Matrox cards are not supported with this game. This is <b>mostly attributed to a lack of needed driver support.</b> I apologize for this disappointment.

The following video card chipsets are supported with this game:
NVIDIA GeForce3, NVIDIA GeForce2, NVIDIA GeForce 256, NVIDIA Riva TNT2, NVIDIA Riva TNT, ATI Radeon, ATI Rage 128 Pro, ATI Rage 128, PowerVR3 Kyro II, or PowerVR Kyro.

You may want to try and return the game to the store from which it was purchased. If you are unable to return this title, we do not issue refunds directly, however we can exchange your game for either a sealed copy that you can return to the store from which it was purchased or a different game that we make. Send the entire game (CD ROM and packaging) along with a copy of the receipt, a return address, daytime phone number, and a brief note explaining your situation to:

    Electronic Arts Customer Warranty
    PO Box 9025
    Redwood City CA, 94063

An exchange for a sealed copy must be sent within 90 days of the original purchase. If you would like to speak to a representative, you may contact them at (650) 628-1900."</i>

So you can either change your card or get a copy of fifa 95, I suspect that might just work with the textures dumbed down a bit.

I'd suggest holding on to it a tad longer... you never know what's going to be fixed in the drivers

We already fixed it with the final 6.8x drivers, EA have been notified, the question or not if they will support us again with these drivers remain to be seen,

Matroxofhonor?, the fix in the new driver works I've played MOHAA. It's a nice game (great sniper level ) altough it ends a bit odd.

Am I missing something? I have completed the game already using my trusty G400 (win2k of course). The real pisser was that it took less time to complete than RTCW. Even if it is the better game.

Yes the singleplayer missions are better, but the most important part is much better in RTCW, namely the multiplayer.

                    Ahh, they say TNT(2) 'supported'?
Do they support the secret t&l part of the tnt(2) chip?? What does 'support' mean? Back to old DOS-years? They coded mohaa for tnt2? Sierra wrote once that tribes dont support the g400 because it's a DirectX-card only )

What will be their comment if the next-gen card from M will run Mohaa better than any of the 'supported' cards?

IIRC G400 is at least as fast as tnt2s and this with much better image quality.
BTW I've played Mohaa on my G400 and it was playable. (After setting the 'Advanced Multitexturing' in the Matrox Tweak util. Dont know what it does, it works. )

                          Hardly surprising.

Well thanks to the tech support at Matrox and EA I managed to get MOHAA up and running. It's crystal clear, the textures are seamless the characters life like. The sounds are frighteningly realistic and the gameplay is engrossing. You see all I had to do was download the new drivers!!!!....

For my recently purchased GeForce 3 Titanium 200 64Mb that is!
