Nobody at Matrox or the betas can post any benchmarks or screenshots. We can't even confirm or deny that we have cards. Patience.....

Do you know when the NDA is supposed to lift Mordrid? I heard it was supposed to be on Friday, but something held it back (I guess the probs that Matrox is having with the card??).

Buddman, don't listen to every rumor you hear.
Nobody (with any real knowledge) said they where having problems with the card.
Nobody ever said any NDA was up on any specific date.

It is commonly known by now that there is a reseller's "event" on or near the 20th (which has been confirmed by Matrox). It would make sense to me that any reviewer's NDAs might actually expire that same day.

Just because someone somewhere heard something someone else said, then posted it does not make it true.

Well, my sources are usually pretty reliable, but I just wanted to know if anyone knew anything else. Oh well, the waiting continues...

Just two days before I get married, I won't be anywhere near a PC from the 20th till the 25th!

I guess it will be a good after wedding "present" to read the reviews!

                    hehehe

The last thing I need is my mobile going off telling me the Parhelia specs when I'm getting married. I'll just have to wait patiently for the details to come out. Besides, now I'm hearing (via the Inquirer) that tomorrow the 18th might be the NDA lifting date.

I just hope that Inquirer is right, they don't seem to have it all together all he time.

                      - Custom video resolution support (Some games only allow 640,800,1024 etc...) Without that, you can't have it. There are ways you can edit .ini or hack the registry, but usually it's not supported.
                      - Adjustable FOV (This is important, for FPS such as Quake 3, SOF2, UT 2003 and so on), without this, again things will look stretched.
                      - Aspect ratio needs to be maintained (Some games lose the vertical size) ie: 4:3 to 4:1

                      Regards,
Can I assume that Flight Simulator 2002 meets the above requirements, since it was demoed heavily at E3 with the Parhelia?

If so, I have two questions I hope someone can answer without violating the NDA:

                      1) I note all screen shots showing FS2K2 in SG show it being used in the Virtual Cockpit mode. Is this the only mode that meets the requirements above? If so, I am concerned about being able to see to the right and the left.

                      2) Does using the VC mode in FS2K2 actually show you enough on the right and the left, or is this merely a forward view stretched wider? If the latter, this would mitigate the value of Surround Gaming considerably.

                      TIA

                        Kelleym,
We showed virtual cockpit mode to show off FAA, it's actually supported in all views, you don't have to worry about that and yes Flight Sim 2k2 does meet the requirements since it auto-adjusts the fov which is a smart thing for an application,
                        Regards,

If this is something your wife really needs to do, I can think of cheaper ways to get her to do it. Phillips Milk of Magnesia, ExLax, etc., would cost far less....

Easily enough managed. Put the wedding off for a week, buy the Parhelia and immerse yourself in it, then get married.
