The FAA16x looks a bit better but jaggies are still there, even at this big resolution.

Looks like the driver still needs some work which of course is not surprising during this early stage.
That's not a driver issue, and it also answers the earlier question about Alpha textures... FAA doesn't work on them.

FAA only works on polygon edges, so if there is a transparent texture it will still have jaggies. It would be nice if they could combine 2XFSAA with FAA to minimize that though, since FAA even at 16X requires little extra performance.

I've got a question no one seems to have touched on.

Does surround gaming require three monitors? Obviously if you wanted the 3840x1024 you need three monitors capable of 1280x1024. Perferably LCD to avoid crosstalk between CRTs, but I digress.

            Is there anyting preventing 2560x1024?

dualhead gaming still works for games like startrek armada etc, but for first person shooters it's undoable.

                It's do-able.
But it's mighty hard to play that way, when all the action is centered between 2 (1/2 of your x-hair on one display, the other 1/2 on the other...

I had become so curious as to if it was possible, I hadn't considered the difficulties that would stem from such a setup. I suppose a FPS would be out of the question. I could see it remaining viable for certain genres. I suppose i'll have to see what kind of support the feature garners.

                  Thanks, Kruzin.

The G400 and above have been doing DualHead gaming for years...

I recently tried UT, and it was reasonably cool - but as noted, you aim in the centre of the screens.

Technically this might work. You should suggest it at the matrox forums.
