    UT 2003 CPU scaling benchmarks

I wasn't sure about the forum in where I should post this, so I just posted it here
The new benchmark shows how well GPUs are scaling with the CPU. They are using an unlocked Athlon XP 2100+ which runs at the default speed and for additional tests just with 800 MHz.

Edit: Damn I forgot the "benchmark" in the subject
    Specs:
    MSI 745 Ultra :: AMD Athlon XP 2000+ :: 1024 MB PC-266 DDR-RAM :: HIS Radeon 9700 (Catalyst 3.1) :: Creative Soundblaster Live! 1024 :: Pioneer DVD-106S :: Western Digital WD800BB :: IBM IC35L040AVVN07

Just shows that Anand will do anything to make his fav Vcard maker appear to be the best ie who would want to play at 800x600 res these days?

Not to mention that he starts with Geforces, then the Radeons, to Kyro and lastly mentions Parhelia when the charts have them listed in aphabetical order.

Can he be a nV fanboy... Naaaaaaaaaaaa

      - I'd like to see Anand test the cards again using Maximum Settings for each card, on High and Medium Game Quality Modes. -

Why don't they show it on an SMP system?

Stupid question, but I came across that last night (about the time I posted my apperantly non-existant as of this morning post ) and can someone explain to me why the mem. bandwidth test ends up so low for the P? It's not making sense to me....

The memory test issue is being looked into by both Matrox and Epic.

Yeah we wouldn't want to buy that damned Parhelia card. It only gets an little over 100fps at 800x600 High Detail Settings on an 800MHz CPU.

                  ***EDIT***

Can someone please explain to me what this means exactly?

                      HE simply means this:

"Noone's got a Parhelia, and I doubt people will buy them, but I have one, so there!"

I thought it showed some nice CPU scaling for the parhelia,
looks like it will scale well up toward 3G athlon, whereas all the others showed definite signs of tailing off

Hmm, NOT quite true to life. He was underclocking the best Athlon core to date which isn't going to be quite the same as an original Athlon running at 800Mhz The whole article's a bit pants as Intel doesn't even make a showing either. Not everyone in the world has (or wants) and AMD - bah to VIA - system

Not a chance I'd spend any money on new gfx h/w just to run 800*600 anyways. Realistically peeps want 1024 and above with bells and whistles. It's obvious that Epic have invested heavily in nVidia architecture. Hopefully they'll put some effort into using specific P support but who knows!

And I'm getting rather bored of reading comments like 'person XX is in bed with brand XXXX' The same could well be said to those making the statement. Everyone has their favourites (for whatever reason), let's just leave it at that. He didn't slate the P, merely didn't exactly push the boat out with content. In fairness, the figures talk for themselves. The card isn't the quickest (by some margin) but at least he showed it.
                            Cheers, Reckless
