Ok got my Parhelia very impressed with image quality so far, only problem even when i go and manually customize the refresh rate for every resolution, it always defaults to 60hz? on d3d or opengl any way of stopping this?
If you customize the refreshrate in powerdesk for a specific resolution, then it should renember that refreshrate for that resolution in games too.
maybe your games overides the powerdesk refreshrates for some reason, try to reinstall your games, and just let the games use the system-default-refreshrate.
Powerdesk can only customize the system-default-refreshrate, not the ingame refreshrate, but must games uses the system-default-refreshrate, unless you have manually configured them to do otherwise.
you don´t need special refreshrate tools for parhelia, it is integrated in powerdesk.
Unicron - how are you setting the refresh rate? If just in the windows' graphics options, then that refresh rate is just for the desktop. To change the refresh rate used for the particular resolution/colour depth you're in, do it through PowerDesk-HF. If it already thinks the refresh rate is right, don't believe it! Change it up or down one and then back to the refresh you want. Hit OK and then it should be saved and then your desktop/OGL and DX should all be in that chosen refresh rate.
Originally posted by Ant With PD-HF is it possible to change the refresh rate of a res that you are not currently using like old PD, or have I just missed it?
Except for modes like 640x480 in WindowsXP as XP doesn't allow 640x480 to be selected.
This is a bugbear for me as I've got a fair few demos which only run in this resolution and running @ 60hz plain sucks.
I've also tried RefreshForce which forces the monitor to work at a specific refresh per resolution which worked great with my old 8500, but I just can't get it to work using the P.
Any insight on this would be appreciated

Hi Ant,
you cannot find what's not in there ...
Sad as it is, you'd have to apply a given resolution for adjusting it's size, position and refresh.
Despite my nickname causing confusion, I am not female ...

You can choose 640x480 in XP albeit through some hoops.
"Advanced - > Adapter -> Show all possibilities (or some such)".
Then you can adjust the refresh the usual way.

Interesting.
I'll get back to you on that when I get home
