    Thanks Gohan

Any chance of a split-screen no-AA Voodoo 5 to Parhelia comparison? (Preferably with gamma adjusted to be at similar levels) - I want to see if there are any differences in the "raw" image quality.

I will try to get a non AA Picture from the Voodoo 5

P.S. I have corrected the Gamma in the first 2 Pictures from the V5.

Tomorrow i will make a html Page with rollover images.

Be aware that the V5 FSAA is partially done on-the-fly in the RAMDAC, so a screenshot won't show you the full effect - you'd need to photograph the screen or something like that. All other cards do AA to the framebuffer, so a screenshot works properly for them.

Thanks Gohan. The Parhelia really does seem to give a better picture (AA aside) - more detail rendered and the colours are a lot nicer. Some of the textures on the V5 seem a little blocky.

Great investigation though - thanks again!

why is the parhelia 4x way worse than the voodoo 4x though?
is a flower best picked in it's prime or greater withered away by time?

Try setting the LOD bias to -1.5 on the Voodoo5 for a better texture rendition. The V5 blurs the whole screen, with this, the textures should be a bit sharper...

Also, the colours look a little flaky, is that the gamma? or just the screenshot?

                        Cheers

                          Look at the gun

the parhelia 16x fsaa ignored an edges on the gun and on the supports of that star like structure. Very disappointing. The only reason for me to now buy the parhelia is for its dual dvi now

There are GF4Ti4600 cards with Dual-DVI. You would have a lot more bang for the buck with that...

The multimonitor support is ass though, and really? gayforces with dual dvi and support for resolutions over 1280x1024! please link for me if u can, as long as they r not MX cards they should be considered.
