JK2 + G400 Fault

I've been playing JK2 with my G400 on Win 98 for the past 3 months with no problems. I recently upgraded to XP and downloaded all drivers Motherboard/G400 etc. . But as soon at the game goes into control settings-i.e. Video Set-up/Player etc..it locks up.

Is there something I can do or is it just a case of it doesn't work with XP & G400.
