I really like the levels, lots of variety and awesome effects, but floating around in an empty level looking at the graphics tends to get boring very quickly.

it bugs me the fact that several levels you run quickly on the ground, but if you jump you float around... i understand low gravity and all, but its annoying for deathmatches..."And yet, after spending 20+ years trying to evolve the user interface into something better, what's the most powerful improvement Apple was able to make? They finally put a god damned shell back in." -jwz

The deathmatch mode is i think not any better than any other game, except that the graphics are spectacular. Try playing Bombing Run....it's really really intense, and it's a BLAST!
The point of the game is to get a ball into the opposing team's goal. The ball starts out in the middle of the map, and you just walk over it to pick it up, if you get killed, you drop the ball. You can pass the ball to other people as well.
Just to keep this post on topic... As far as i know lots of stores have it in stock already, and i plan on buying it tommorow

bombing run is honestly the only redeaming part of the game. domination sucks compared to the first (imho, its way too limited)... unfortunatly, i don't think that the single player game can do any sort of justic to bombing run the way it should be played..."And yet, after spending 20+ years trying to evolve the user interface into something better, what's the most powerful improvement Apple was able to make? wow, I thought it was just me, but UT2K3 is just UT with much better graphics. It's really fun to look at everything and it's fun to get in and kill people for no apparent reason, but it's jsut another FPS unfortunately. And just to stay on topic, I have read in a few forums as well that people are picking them up in local stores. EB usually has them in early, I'd check there.
DaveLadies and gentlemen, take my advice, pull down your pants and slide on the ice.

Indeed, i can't even get a bot to pass me the ball! how stupid is that... another thing is: the bots always line up behind the ball carrier, sometimes not even shooting at all! one big parade towards the goal is often the result.

i kept getting pissed at the bots because they usually didn't follow to closely when i had the ball... i usually managed to get to the other side of 3 or 4 enemy bots and get my ass kicked by lightning... because my bots were not doing anything..."And yet, after spending 20+ years trying to evolve the user interface into something better, what's the most powerful improvement Apple was able to make? i think it's sweet. the graphics just look amazing. not only the fx but also how the levels acxtually look like. they really paid attention to a lot of details. btw. does anyone else got reminded of the EWOKS in tokara foest?
the music in that level is sweet btw.

I also got the full version today...
The game runs well, 1024x768x32, 16xFAA, no AF, everything set to "highest" (except Physics are "normal"). I played some instant action with default number of bots, currently every map I played was playable, only that skyscraper and that CF magma map ran a bit slow, haven't tried that slow map mentioned in another post.
Personally I think it's a bit frustrating that there is almost nothing new, Bombing Run could've been made as an Add-On or Mod for UT, also most of the weapons could have been changed this way. The only really new thing are the graphics and some moves, that's about all, pretty hefty if I imagine that I just spent 50€ for a tuned add-on
