i love my 9700 but ,the parhelias surround gaming keeps calling to me. i play this game everyday so i was just wondering how framerates and i.q. were.

Honestly, I've got it, and it rocks (meaning, both Parhelia + Nascar).
I said it before, and I'll say it again...a 9700 doesn't really "buy" you anything right now. Sure, it's fast...but it doesn't transform the gaming experience.

It has been a while since I played it last. When I did, it was a little slow. But that was with the settings cranked, old drivers, and I only have a AXP 1600+. With the new optimized drivers it should play much better. If you have a +2Ghz cpu, don't worry about it.
Another thing you should know is that in DirectX, it is limited to 1920x480. This is a DX7 limitation. So to get a higher resolution you have to use OpenGL. I don't like the road textures when using openGL, though.
I'll see about reinstalling it tomorrow. To see how it runs with the new drivers.I should have bought an ATI.Comment

I have a athlon xp2200+ and this is a fave surround game along with bf1942 and americas army, and elite force and q3a.
i dont play any non surround games anymore.Comment
