I just downloaded the Demo for James Bond 007: Nightfire (its kinda lame...like a console FPS...and it was done by gearbox ) and under video options it gives you the option of running it in the typical surround gaming modes like 2400X600 and etc. My question the reason that it gives you these options is that its a DX8.1 title and not something designed for Surround Gaming in mind? I've noticed that the FOV needs some adjustment if Matrox wants to make this into a Supported Surround gaming title...

As long as you're in stretched desktop mode the game will see that res. I think DX9 stretches the res limit for 3D to 3840 though, I'm guessing 2400 is the DX8.1 limit.
Off to check this, it has been posted.Meet Jasmine.

Pace,
No that is not true, DX7 has a limited max framebuffer of 2048 so you can't do more then 1920x480. Nightfire is using DX8 which is why he can do 2400x600. As for FOV, it's the Counterstrike engine, so no fov adjustment. I am trying to convince Gearbox Software on adding it for the final version, will keep you updated if it goes in,

Asheron's Call 2 allows me to run at 3072x768x32, so obviously the DirectX 8.1b buffer allows for more than 2048.
