As far as my experience with Matrox goes, you don't need to mix-and-match drivers like nV or ATi. Just use the latest non-betas at the time. If a beta contains a specific fix for a game you want to play, use them.

Thank the driver people and of course the BBz for this nice, civilised way of doing things

Yup, Matrox knows how to fix without breaking, so use the latest drivers...

Had the Radeon 8500 128mb Retail card before.....Matrox's driver support is in many ways above and beyond in comparison.....(they actually care to help)...

Not only that but the majority of the Demo/Intro scene demos (http://www.scene.org) work much better with the Parhelia than my old ATI8500. The only exception I've found so far are OpenGL ones (slower) and FrogWise's PandaLization - which crawls at around 1fps where it should be around 60fps ... :/

And thats excellent as demos/intros aren't normally coded to the exact DirectX/OpenGL specs.

Word - all Matox needs to do is fix the banding problem permamently and write a much faster OpenGL driver (D3D is soooo damn fast - why isn't the OpenGL as fast?) and only Good Things (tm) can happen

Assuming they're targeting professionals with this card, proper OpenGL should be in the works...

After tweaking the card to specific apps, I' am really impressed with it's performance. 16 FAA is da DOGS BOLLOX! ...lol honestly it is brilliant as I' am a bit of a perfectionist and I haven't seen AA as good as this since the voodoo 5 but the best thing is this is better I love the technical support and the Murc forums are also very helpful and I have also found the members friendly
To be honest I think it really would be in the best interest of Matrox to take more interest in the forum and possibly even fund it as it is a really important part of the Matrox community.

The MURC wouldn't be independant if Matrox funded it!!!
