So, you might want to make up a config file in Q3 or manually that has every graphics feature disabled (dynamic lighting, shadows etc), then cross the old fingers

i could run the demo without editing any configs.. just remember to drag down the console and type map e3/e3_X (x=1,2 or 3) .. The FPS wasnt satisfying at all (10-20ish) .. and there are some issues with some polygons 'sticking' to the centre of the screen, very much like the new Rallisport Challenge from Microsoft.

but, its an experience to try that thing.. almost scary

I guess the truth scares some people then?

He's a gifted programmer, and makes unbiased opinions. I love my Parhelia, dojnt get me wrong, but im not going to start blaming him for showing the truth.

Did you expect Matrox to make a god of a chip and him go to "Oh wow, its the best ever, everyone buy it!"

Really, you got it to run? Parhelia or G400? Which drivers?

Oh, sorry, forgot to mention. Parhelia Retail, 1.02 drivers..

i ran both with the default doomconfig and after deleting the config and setting seta "r_Parhelia" "1" .. not that it gave any results though

                But it works..

Personally i have no problem telling people that "its not a framerate monster" when they ask how it is..

But, ask anyone to run a game in 3072x768 or 3840x1024 and i think they'll be very quiet

I hope, though, that with new drivers the current bugs will be squished out, and perhaps some performance increase, specially in surround gaming..

But, its still a matrox, nothing really beats them, in my opinion... .. *hugs his good ole' Myst220*

Make sure you have the latest VIA drivers installed (or other chipset drivers)... i saw massive graphical problems in game without the latest via drivers installed...

also... the game is highly CPU dependant... i'm using a dual 1ghz box to test it, and it runs horribly slow... if i set "r_usesmp 1" there is a MASSIVE increase in FPS... but, its at the extent that there are huge graphical issues...

Apparently if you run it with the dynamic shadows off and/or bump-mapping off you'll get a nice speedup.

I can't see anything because alot of those polygons are sucked into the top left corener

seen that issue randomly, installing the latest via drivers fixed it...
