  • GTA 3 and Parhelia

Well, I am playing GTA 3 again lately, the first time I am playing it with my Parhelia, and I am very disappointed
The game runs not better than on my old Athlon 1000 with a Voodoo5 5500. 16xFAA is only barely playable, in some cases actually unplayable. Even without FAA and AF it doesn't run that good.
Any ideas if that is usual with the P?

The game is very playable on the Parhelia.

    Reinstall the game.

          Yes, I installed it.
It is strange, sometimes it runs very well, and on some areas the fps break down big time, though there isn't actually much visible action.

What drivers are you using? Try using the 42 drivers they seem to run the game very well. You should also try to make sure that Trails is set to off and that you do not have the Frame Limiter set to the minimum.

Try turning down the FSAA and uping the resolution and have a look....

Now after I run a defrag of my harddrive, the game runs better without FAA, but still not playable with FAA.
                I will reinstall it today!

About the suggestion with the FAA: There are only two options: On and off, turning down would be bad, because that would be 4xFSAA and is unplayable.
If you buy me a new monitor, then I also might up the resolution

Ok, now I reinstalled the game today, I haven't played long, but from what I've seen from my short testrun is that it definatly runs smoother. There are still some annoying slowdowns though
