  • Parhelia TV-out Gaming

I searched the forum but couldn't find what I'm looking for.

This weekend I hooked up a 20" TV as my second display and played Serious Sam the First Encounter using clone mode. On the PC monitor game play was smooth but on the TV it was very jerky and unplayable. I dropped the primary display all the way down to 800x600 with the same results.

Is anyone successfully using TV out for gaming?

    The drivers are 1.2.0.42

    TIA.
    Mike

    Have you tried disabling V-Sync?

You might want to go over to the Matrox tech support forum. There is a thread about this, it seems like a known bug and a fix is claimed to be in the works.

Thanks for your help. The problem that I'm having seems to be a bug with Parhelia. The TV out has half or less of the FPS of the monitor.

On my Radeon 9700Pro it plays really well ... I loved playing TombRaider on my T.V .... it's great! I'm sure your Matrox card is able to do it once you figure out what to set it at.

Gladiator that sounds REALLY cool. There is a bug in the Parhelia clone mode but hopefully it will be fixed in the next driver release.
