can anyone recommend a good single-player 3d-shooter for the pc?

It doesn´t have to be new or trendy or anything, but I won´t mind if it is.
good gameplay is a must.

Im tired of replaying my old games, and need something new to entertain me.

edit: I skimmed a few internet reviews and it appears to be a system shock-clone but with a non-linear plot, is that correct?

It's a quasi-futuristic shooter with RPG elements and a strong storyline, based on the Unreal engine.

Sold lots of units, and can still be picked up in most stores.

And it runs in Surround Gaming!

Edit: apparently yes, it's a bit like system-shock, but I haven't played that one so not sure

I found some reviews that said it had poor direct3d support. but since you mention surround gaming I assume it runs fine on a parhelia.

Yes it does run absolutely fine on a P.

And poor directx support? It ran well on a G450 before I upgraded to the P - under dx. So no problems there. Just patch up to whatever the latest patch is and I am sure you will have absolutely no problems.

not really, 2 is much better. there are some funny references back to part 1 but it's not worth it.
