      1. You did flame and with great hatred attacked.
      2. Disabled PMing so I couldn't respond to it.
      3. According to YOUR rules your post above is offtopic.
      4. Kruzin deleted the little flame war you started earlier in this thread (including mine, which was fine with me)

Nice, I'm trying to find reasons to justify having more than one monitor.

          Desktop space/productivity/ease of use!...

I did say GAMING usage, Greebe.
Greebe responded to your individual post about justifying DualHead, and imho, he posted a valid point, and with a smiley

Why the flame? I don't know.
We all know it's great for the FPS games...why don't we just try to make a non-FPS list of games
Em, you've mentioned DualHead isn't? Check the Matrox website, they'll have a list of DualHead enhanced games.

I didn't flame, I made a joke, as the poster after me specified. It was made in jest and you took it to be personal.

I disabled PMing not so that you couldn't respond to it, but so that you would post it in the open forum.

I didn't start a 'flame war' I was making a simple jest. A joke that you would have to somehow subdue your wife to convince her to use a computer desk in the corner. Any guy who has been married long enough would laugh at that joke. You always take everything I say as a personal attack towards you. Granted the one about your son was, and I'll apologize for that. But please take anything I post with a grain of salt. Enough said.

It wasn't a flame originally, I made the crack about his wife sitting in the corner, then I mentioned roofies, and he said crack kill, and I said "you 'moonlighting' again?" And he said I was inferring that he was cheating on his wife. I have NO idea how that came about. I was making the joke about a MOON! Crack kills/Moon, get it?

And justifying dual-head for gaming was specified in the subject. As far as using dual-head for other uses, I use it really only for a movie display. Since I use mozilla for all my web browsing and it has tabs, I really only need one screen for that. Though I'm still working on getting my linux set-up to do dual-head, and also working on doing some development with it. But until then, finding a reason for the desktop space that the second 21" monitor I have is taking up is just kind of a pass-time.

Hopefully all is now made clear.

one little interjection here leech. I didn't realise what you were refering to when you mentioned "roofies" and ask what that was at the time. You responded with I must be a nob for not knowing this is a date rape drug. Yes I flamed back, not only because it was squarely aim at me via the wife, but that these "roofies" were used on a couple of close friends who in fact were raped (one case I was a witness for the prosecution at the trial) thus you hit a major nerve and I responded accordingly.

My jab with the crack comment was a joke and only directed at you as such. I would not ever slam somebody's wife or child (actually I don't think you would be around if you had said anything more derogatory about my son. Glad you didn't either and took the time to say you were wrong for it above

I think at this time we have put this to an end and can move forward without further implications of the same

Yeah, I knew the crack bit was a joke, and that's why I responded with the joke of moonlighting, which you took wrongly. It's an old joke I'd always play on a friend of mine, who is large in size. Whenever he'd bend over to pick something up I'd tell him crack kills and to be careful next time

I love linux. I use it daily as my main operating system, windows XP is just for games, and that's about it.

Anyone have any idea if Matrox is only doing internal beta-testing of the linux drivers (as opposed to letting people like the BBz do it)? I know at one point Wombat was beta-testing the linux drivers for the G450, what about the Parhelia? I wouldn't mind getting in on that one (I always back up everything I NEED to, so if it trashed my system, it wouldn't be TOO big of a deal ) I realize I'd have to email them, but I figured I'd ask here to see if there was even a point in trying. Cheers.

Are there any other 2d games (matrox gaming site lists only 3d...) that can take advantage of ultra-high resolutions and dual head?

Well going from the origional topic of the thread, I have a question. The P has 3 screen gaming(duh!) can you do streched screen over two monitor? What about nvidia/ati? Could I play ut2003 over 2 screens?
p.s-i do know the crosshair would be in the middle but I have a solution.

Yup (well, it's sort of 3d-ish) - Total Annihilation will pick up your desktop resolutions, but the highest I've got it to run is 2048*768 or 1600*1200 - I prefer the dualhead 2048*768 as the units are still big enough to select at this res!

I guess it's limited in resolution by the fact it's a Dx5 game.
