Hmm.. don't you think that the game need a Nvidia card.. not spec. a dx9 card... It's gonna be part of the bundle pack for the Nvidia card series..

It looks to be a CG 'specific' game. AFAIK, no other graphic card can do CG 'yet' (and maybe not for a while) so it does look like a nVidia only game. Back to the bad old days......

        CG sounds like Glide....

...another thing NVidia inherited from 3DFX...
Let us return to the moon, to stay!!!

          gunmetal doesn't require Dx9.0 ,
but it needs a Nvidia card I think

Cg is not a proprietary language, and Nvidia cards donĀ“t run Cg. Cg is a high level programing language (Like C++) that compiles code into DirectX or OpenGl language and it can be run by any Dx8.x and higher compliant video card. How much the compiler is optimized to produce best results on Nvidia cards is another issue.

That demo is hardwired to run only on Nvidia cards, pretty much as G400 tech demo or Parhelia reef demo are hardwired to run on Matrox cards.

And the demo itself is interesting, but it runs like shit on a XP1800+/Ti 4400@300/630, and itĀ“s completely cpu bound (only 1 fps difference from 640x480x16 to 1024x768x32)

                Runs fine on Parhelia

Download 3DAnalyzer, choose the Gunmetal exe, klick run, enjoy great graphic

Now, thatĀ“s nice! That 3danalyzer utility is one of the greatest utilities on the 3d scene for a long time ago.

Using fraps on the rolling timedemo at 1024x768x32 all high I get 29 fps average, 13 low and 60 high. How about the Parhelia and other cards?

That confirms the demo is more a cpu benchmark than anything else

                        Thats on a P3-800
And the graphics arenĀ“t something special imo .

                            crashes to desktop

                              Nope........
That game is a DX9 title
And it works for me with DX9 installed.
Dont forget to check that box for the Gunmetal fix in 3dAnalyzer
