Is that dual amd xp cpu you got the "mp" type I think its called thats works in parallel and is for servers? If so does it work any faster for gaming since it sound does twice the work in the same amount of time?????
Quite glad companies are delaying games rather than rushing stuff on to the market. I see Tomb Raider and others have been held back too
Gotcha: It isn't that much faster in games, and games need to be specifically designed for dual processing to take full advantage. Photoshop and 3D rendering apps will take advantage for instance, or you could just run an intensive app on the 2nd CPU leaving the first one free for normal usage.
Thanks Pace I will follow both rules
Yeah I also saw Tomb Raider at EB as well and it looked pretty good, different from all previous versions.
Gotcha, SIGNATURE UPDATED
I have two machines, the one you se is my editing system, I moved the Parhelia to my Asus A7S333 AMD 2100XP 512 MB ram.
And you will not see any improvement in dual CPU systems unless the game is coded to support it.
I could be wrong on this, but I think for the most part the Quake 3 engine games are the only ones really that had any multi-processor code in it.
The funnest thing I've seen to do with a dual-processor system is to watch it compile stuff, it simply FLIES!
Anyone know if the new Unreal engine is SMP enabled?
