Yes it does, albeit much better looking!!!

Being a C&C fan this is the most anticipated game for me, I hope it's good.

Same feeling here, Westwood always made extremely playable games, and now they've caught up with the rest in terms of graphics.
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.

Then you'll have to pardon me, but after the original C&C and C&C Red Alert I stopped getting the feeling.
Same goes for Dune 2 vs Dune 2000 and Emperror BFD.
              C&C Renegade was rather nice.
And I actually got Nox and finished it with all three characters
No Diablo II killer, no Diablo killer even, though... well, I don't know what I found in it but I played it.

Is the infantry the boring same old same old, or are there some serious units on all three sides that can do some really cool stuff???

Is the game balance any good or is there some need to balance the sides? (I don't like to have a patch 2 months down the line after launch that changes everything in multiplayer...)

                    No...
                    US:
Army Ranger: Standard infantery, have a machinegun, can also be equiped with "flashbags" (you have to bye this update in the Barracs) and "capture building"

Rocket Soldier: They use rapid-fire laser guided missiles at ground and air units, you can even make them "laser-lock on a target"

Path Finder: The Path Finder is the sniper and scout. Once the Path Finder stops moving, he blends in with his surroundings and becomes effectively invisible to the enemy

Colonel Burton: The hero unit for the US, he carries a powerful chaingun. He can also plant remote and timed charges on buildings and units (C4). Another option is for him to stay cloaked by knifing enemy infantry units, going for a "silent kill" He's camouflaged when not moving or shooting

                    China:
Red Guard: Red Guard units are the basic foot soldier of the Chinese army, can be upgraded with "capture building"

Tank Hunter: This infantry unit is armed with a rocket launcher. This unit can strap dynamite to enemies to create a powerful explosion

Hackers: Hackers are the information specialists of the Chinese army. They have two ways of attacking thier enemies. Hackers can hack into building computer systems disabling them for a short time. In addition, Hackers can hack the Internett and get you cache in the game

Black Lotus: Black Lotus is the hero unit of the Chinese armed forces. She is cloaked when not using her abilities but vulnerable when she executes one of her three attacks. Cache hack, Vehicle hack and capture building

                    GLA:
Rebel: This is the basic infantry unit. It can be upgraded to take over enemy and tech structures

RPG Trooper: Effective against armored vehicles. Not good against infantry and air units

Angry Mob: A group of "terrorists" They can stone you to death, fire small weapons, throw "fire bombs" and can be upgraded to carry AK47 assault guns

Terrorist: A suicide soldier that carries dynamite

Hijacker: Can capture enemy vehicles on the battlefield. When standing still this unit is camouflaged

Jarmen Kell: Hero of the GLA, garrison unit in a building and he will snipe enemy infantry. Can also snipe the crew of enemy vehicles, which said vehicle can then be captured

                    I have probably forgot something....

Is the game balance any good or is there some need to balance the sides? (I don't like to have a patch 2 months down the line after launch that changes everything in multiplayer...)
That's what we do in the beta test now, game balancing. Most off the bugs affecting gameplay has been removed, the balance of the game is good, but it's still something left!

And the biggest question of them all: nukes! Are there nuclear weapons? The nukes has always been extremely underwhelming in the Westwood-games. I remember Red Alert extra vividly; if you fire a nuke at the enemy, you were happy if you managed to take out one or two footsoldiers. Everything else stayed more or less undamaged. Behold the awesome power of the atomic bomb. NOT!

Check out GeforceFX video presentation from Comdex, they had very cool C&C nuke demo there... and not just that.

Well it's the same with nuke in Starcraft... I'd actually say you can not have a modern nuke in any of those kinds of games. A cruise missile or a ballistic missle sure... but even a nuke of Hiroshima power (and they are by no means modern or powerful) would obliterate everything on the entire map considering the scale they are using. Which of course makes it a sort of pointless weapon )

that is just the way of getting the warhead to the target, cruise missiles and ballistic missiles come in many forms, including the nuclear variety.
