  • playing SOF 2 with a G400 max?

playing soldier of fortune 2 with:

    G400 max
    p3 450mhz
    512mb sdram
    SB PCI 64 (really old).

i set all the graphics to low, and the game starts off fine. but when 2 or three characters appear on screen at the same time, the game really slows down. should this system play sof 2 with no problems?

the problem may well be my soundcard, or indeed my 32mb graphics card...i may upgrade.

    any ideas? ta.

Yes this system does look to be on the slow side for running SOF2.

i don't think one thread would suffice to tell you why your system is too slow. i'd need an additional forum for that

Have you tried putting your PIII 450@600 on a 133mhz bus? or is the AGP gonna go up to 99mhz if you do that?
If your mobo has a 133fsb setting, and the agp stays at 66mhz, it may do something.
I had my PIII450 running at 600 with stock cooling and thermal paste, and stock voltages.

Just a thought on how to get a few more drops of blood out of that stone.
