I know, i was just referring to the 'i cant find the 32bit color option' crow8k3a talked about. Offcourse i can find the refreshrate settings in powerdesk, just not in HL, 'cause there are none

      frame sync: off
      frame limiter on
trails off (cause they are annoying)
      screen resolution 1024x768x16
      with FAA on.
I'm sorry, but I believe you are either mistaken, or flat out lying. Please test it again. I'm averaging 15-20 FPS with the exact same settings as you use. But my CPU is 200MHz faster.

I've attached a log from FRAPS. As you can see, I get about 60 FPS when I'm in the menu, but as soon as I start the game, it drops down to 15.

I've taken some screenshots also, which you can find right here

EDIT: It would be helpful if you could post some 30 FPS screenshots too. Thanks.

I never bothered to check framerates on any game. CS plays just fine on my Marvel g200.

Now who wants me to kick his ass in CS? hehe

wombat, I have a fix for the 60hz (well maybe )

              1) set your desktop resolution to 1024x768 (or the one you want in HL)
              2) go to matrox powerdesk > Monitor and tv settings > adjust refreshrate > set it to the Refreshrate you want (I use 100) if you want 85hz, I think that you first need to set it a something else and then back to 85.

              3) Go to Display Properties > Settings > Advanced >monitor
              Enable hide modes....
Hey! You're talking to me all wrong! It's the wrong tone! Do it again...and I'll stab you in the face with a soldering iron

Yeah, I tried that, and that after a clean XP install, and other things.

                  Nothing fixed it.

thanks for that fraps program, its awesome.

I ran it w/ gta 3, i pretty much got a constant Fps of 30, varying from 29 to 31. When i'd take a screenshot tho when it saved it it'd drop to 27. i took a picture w/ fraps and compressed it w/ jpg i can post that. I also have the log, but anytime u see 26 or 27, that was when i was taking a screenshot.

It looks like you forgot to enable FAA.

You told me that you got 30FPS at 1024x768 with FAA. I get 30 FPS without FAA too, although it drops down to ~20 when ever something interesting happens.

EDIT: After some testing, I can't even get 800x600 with FAA to average 30 FPS. I get 30 from time to time, but but it averages around 20.
