  • New drivers kill FAAx16?

What happened with FAAx16? I've tried Postal 2 and this new game I picked up called "Line of Sight: Vietnam" (killer game by the way) But Neither of them work with FAAx16 turned on. They both crash horribly as soon as 3D is turned on. (by that I mean that in Postal 2, the initial menu is 3-dimensional, and in the other game, the menu isn't, but when it tries to initialize the game itself it freezes.)

This is with the newer drivers. The screen goes black, and I can still hear the music for a while, then the music starts to stutter like a scratched record. Any ideas?

P.S. I know Postal 2 uses the Unreal engine (I think the same one that Unreal 2 uses) and I think LOS: Vietnam uses the Quake3 one (because the menus and everything look almost identical to Return to Castle Wolfenstein)

Confirmed. Line of Sight: Vietnam crashes back to desktop with and without FAA set on.
I tried all other settings but it will always crash back to the desktop.

The game works fine for me as long as FAAx16 isn't on. In fact we played it multi-player all last night and beat it. Damn fun game :-)

Nope, it won't run at my place. It just crashes to the desktop FAA or not.

The only setting I have different on it is that I set Trilinear filtering on it through the Powerdesk. Give that a try and see if it works, other than that I have everything at default.

I've got it working with and without FAA.

I reinstalled the previous drivers (1.0.3.00.043) but line of sight wouldn't run anymore (crashes to desktop) FAA or not. This was strange because it worked before .

So I reinstalled the game and no crashes to desktop anymore.

I then installed the latest drivers and the game is still running FAA or not .

I had a totally fresh install of windows (since this was a new harddrive) and so I had installed the newest 1.04x drivers and Line of Sight (and all other games) would crash if I set FAA on. I've tried Morrowind now and it's the same thing :-(
