What is it best on:
Well I own the game on both the Xbox and the PC, though I have tried the game on the Gamecube and the Ps2 through friends. Now after playing through the game on the xbox and playing through most of it on the PC which are imo are the best 2 ver. of the game out of the 4 PC, PS2, Xbox and GC.
I would definately say the Xbox version is the best, the controller is perfect for this game with all of it's buttons
plus with the dedication of the xbox power Ubisoft have put some textures in the game that look better than the PC version. Though the PC version can look better due to the fact that you can get much higher resolution.
Now I personally think that this game should not have been released on the GC or the PS2 for these reasons. Now I think the cube can handle the gfx side though the lighting is bad on the GC version but when it comes to the controller ... argH!! what a pain! though on the other hand the Ps2 controller is actually quite good for splinter cell as it is kind of designed for the third person game a la Tomb Raider. Though when it comes to gfx, I'm sorry but it looks pants on the ps2, it looks so bad compared to Xbox and PC versions. lighting isn't right and the character models are half the detail, it's all jaggy and the mission have been cut to bits :/ due to the limitations of the Ps2 and have been replace with movie clips.
So what I'm basically saying is that imo if you are buying this game for something and dont have an Xbox get the Pc version as with the other 2 versions it doesn't feel like the same game. Though thx to the nice 5.1 and controller I prefer the Xbox version. Though many ppl do prefer Keyboard and mouse and I admit that I do from time to time
