  • parhelia and nwn issues

    Hi all!

Can anyone tell me how to fix neverwinter nights 'crash to
    desktop' problem?

I searched the forums here and over at bioware and havent
had that much luck except knowing that I wasnt the only one
    with those problems.

I tried the 1.29 beta patch like they suggested with no luck.

They said all would be fixed in the 1.30 patch (which is cur-
    rently being delayed)

Some people over there said the parhelia works fine with
1.27 patch but that patch doesnt appear to available, or at
    least not the english version.

If anyone knows where i can get 1.27, please let me know.

    Thanks alot!

      Thanks KeiFront.

I read that thread over and over, and I still don't know what to
do or where I messed up.

I am using the latest drivers (or so they seem) from the Matrox
website, the ones released on Apr. 16, 2003, and still no luck.

I tried looking for the beta ones but only the Linux ones are there.

I'm sorry if I missed something.

      Thanks again for your time,
      Destro

It's been a long time since I played NWN, actually I'm still running with the 1.27 patch . So I can give you the 1.27 patch if you need. It's the english version and it's about 45Mb.

I know that some other people here on MURC still play NWN on a regular basis, maybe they can help.

I couldn't find the 1.27 patch on the internet only 1.28 and 1.29, so I uploaded my local copy to my personal webspace. I hope it's legal to provide you with this file I couldn't find an eula . (little disclaimer: please scan the file with your virusscanner, according to my virusscanner the file is virus/trojan free)

I have a problem with NWN and Parhelia. Mouse pointer disappear when there's no movement. Well I, long time ago, switched to another VGA for games but just wanted to know if anyone had the same problem or it was just me.

I know that I had to uncheck "Enable hardware mouse" in the NWN setup to play NWN with my Voodoo 5. Otherwise the game crawled, etc.
But I've never seen my mouse pointer disappear in NWN when there's no movement Voodoo or Parhelia.

I've never seen that either. Currently with the 1.29 patch I crash though. I currently don't care about the game enough to reinstall.

                          Ssin,

If Keifronts fix didnt work, try dropping hardware acceleration down by one notch, see if that makes any difference. (It did on my laptop but thats not a matrox chipset) I am pretty sure the first notch only changes the mouse and no other acceleration settings so hopefully you wont see any performance drop.

The 1.29 patch does crash, i'm stuck as my friends with ATI cards upgraded to fix a bug, I upgrade and now can't play on their games :/ grrrr Someone from Bioware did say they *may* release a fix for us parhelia owners before SOU comes out, but i'm not holding my breath. I guess the best thing is if every nwn/parhelia owner emails them about it rather than praying.

I have a feeling that with there being so relatively few of us, we may need to make our voices heard a little louder!!

bioware now have a special patch available now that fix the parhelia crashing problem, but you have to email them for it at : support@bioware.com. just make sure you say you have a parhelia

I got it yesterday, downloaded, installed and it ran perfectly.
