DICE (and EA) dropping support for TH

Please observe that the reason they dropped support was not a technical one, but rather that it was considered an exploit and cheating. Then I'm suprised that they haven't already dropped support for all fast gfxcards since using them could be considered cheating in comparison to using a slow card!

They could implement it for the single-player mode and perhaps don't allow it when playing in multiplayer.

I don't know much about the PC graphic card business but it looks like everything Matrox does good some people just try to doom it.
You just have to look at the first reviews at anand and tom's, or the first comments by JC on the card.

I think it's some kind of conspirary between EA and ATI/NVidia!
Games would look too good on Matrox cards, witch are marketed towards professionals anyway, if the game would support Surround Gaming!

You know what? Ordinarily, I would be plenty pissed at this situation ... but you know what? I got sick of playing BF1942 because of all its technical issues (and not to mention rampant cheating and TK'ing).

So, screw DICE and EA ... I'm waiting for PlanetSide anyway.

This is saddening.. ROM has stated there may still be hope for single player..

I read with the new patch that mods were going to be disabled to stop cheating... but in the end they decided to make it a server descision.. so you just enable the option for mods when starting a game. So those who want guaranteed no cheating can have it and those who are willing to rick it for the mods can also be happy

why cant support for surround gaming be like this?

have a flag in the code that connects you to a game telling the server you are running surround gaming, if its not allowed then you cant join... its not an ideal soloution but would be better then dropping it all together

ur right on the money dude, surround gaming is the next thing!!! BUT I would say wait for the next GEN card also from Matrox, it's like anything that comes out first. It isn't gonna blow you away with everything we need, yeah 3 Monitors is cool but performance is the prob, you know you can't use this card and Play Doom3 on the the monitors, even with 1 it wont do it.... Damn I did the benchmark test and can't believe how shitty it ran.. What gets me about Matrox is, why wound't they put this card through the same test we would and say UHM!! this isn't gonna cut it... It's not like we can enable any game we want for 3 mon's , we need support and if we don't get it!! then what? Like SOF2, yeah enable cheats and you can fix the fov, but what about Multyplayer, NOPE wont even work, why?? So what you have 3 mon's or 5 you might have more of a view but is that gonna make you a better player; not really.. Like you said, add the function in multyplayer just like punkbuster enable or not!!!!!!!

i agree with everything apart from doom3, ive treid the 'beta' code too and it runs like shit... but its leaked code from an ati demo thats a year old, how do you expect it to run???

i wouldnt run out 3xscreen doom just yet
