It always brings to my mind an old DOORGAME (BBS) by the name of Land Of Devastation (or was it Destruction)..
But i must say Fallout was the best of its kind - an RPG of a different time and type, of a post apocalypse era rather than the usual middle-ages fighter/mage types.Life is a bed of roses. Everyone else sees the roses, you are the one being gored by the thorns.

The Fallout games were some of the best role playing games ever made, and the Fallout world has to be the coolest game world created. If you like either RPGs, post-nuclear, wasteland, or mad max style worlds, just get Fallout Apocalypse, containing Fallout I and II, for cheap, and have lots of hours of excellent fun. Just be sure to get the updates before you start a game, and if you live in germany, the blood patch. Buy those games NOW, if you don't know them!

The first Fallout Rocked. (it was by one of the designers of the Bard's Tale.) Actually it was pretty much a re-make of the excellent game Wasteland. Wasteland probably can be found on Abandon Games sites. Fallout 2 (which I didn't play much, but friends did) was buggy as all hell, and just simply not as cool as the first one. Then they released Fallout Tactics which was just a strategy game...... Finally a third one?? SWEET! Well, hopefully it doesn't blow like I had heard the second one did!

F2 certainly didn't blow - it was just more of the same, and it was bigger than F1. Yes, buggy as hell, but after the patch it was very playable. Try it some time, you'll like it
