Which older games? I really love the bg-series with their extensions, but they don't scale at all...

I'm currently in the process of playing all the way from BG1 to BG2:ToB.
There exists a project to run BG1 with the BG2 engine, thus allowing you to play in higher resolutions and with GL acceleration (which are horribly broken on the Parhelia I might add).

      Replace user and try again.
      System 1: P4 2.8@3.25, P4C800-E Deluxe, 1024MB 3200 CL2, 160+120 GB WD, XP Pro, Skystar 2, Matrox Parhelia 128R, Chieftec Dragon Full Tower (Silver).
      System 2: P4 2.0, Intel 845, 1024MB Generic RAM, 80GB WD, XP Pro, Promise Ultra133 TX2, GF3 Ti500. Resides in a neat Compaq case.

Heard from this project. I don't care too much about higher resolutions or 3d-acceleration, since I really like bg1/tosc as it is.

Besides: currently I'm playing through bg-bg2:tob too! Just great these classics.

Can you give me the link? Maybe I take a look and then I can submit some bug reports...if they aren't submitted yet. Maybe they get fixed sometime.

          16FAA in Neverwinter

Does anyone have the Anti aliasing working properly in Neverwinter? I tell the settings in Powerdesk to always use Antialiasing for neverwinter but it doesn't work.
Is there a special mix of this and a specific place on the aa slider in game or something like that?

Any help would be welcome now the new expansion is arriving!

          Thunder.

Most kinds of AA are broken in NWN.
I haven't been able to use 16x ever except for in one patch around 1.20 or so.
It's been broken on my GF3 in the latest couple of patches too.
Let's hope they manage to fix it in HoTU.

Always thought Bioware is fast with fixing bugs, but now after more than 1 year since nwn came out I'm wondering why there remain so many problems.

They're quick at fixing bugs that stop people playing fullstop. other things slip through the cracks. There was a survey recently on nwvault.ign.com that showed that less than 2 out of 500 people who play neverwinter nights use a parhelia, so we really aren't a priority compared to ati and nvidia cards (which are more standardised across themselves anyway).

So purely visual quality stuff like shiny water and AA for less than half of 1% of their users slips...

I always figured the AA problem was a Matrox issue though since it's meant to just _work_ with everything.

I know now it's too late, but I had loved it to vote for the P! Ok, things shouldn't have changed anyways.

Sure it's a good thing that they fix the big bugs, but how's that possible that those big bugs do even exist after 1 and a half year since the release?

AFAIK the Radeon 9600/Pro owners now have a workaround, but for more than 1 year those guys simply couldn't play nwn longer than max. 15 minutes before a lock-up. Strange.

Are you sure? I had that card for quite a while now and I've played NWN from dusk to dusk on many occasions. (Not healthy tho'! )

Hmm. Some time ago there were tons of "All ati issues", "All ati issues, continued" (e.g. http://nwn.bioware.com/forums/viewto...45308&forum=49) at the bioware forums.

AFAIK they were mainly about the 9600er problems.

As you can see here ( http://nwn.bioware.com/forums/viewto...70564&forum=49 ) the "Radeon 9600PRO Problem FIXED" thread started 14th october this year!! Wow!!

Let me guess. They were overclocking their cards to more than what their cards are meant to handle while playing? (600Mhz Core! 400Mhz RAM! More FPS!, Must have MORE! )

Yeah, mine stuff gets stuck at stock levels, unless I'm deliberately testing the OC of something.

Dunno. Had something to do with software mouse cursors, disabling fast writes and so on.

These threads had usually 8+ pages, so I think it was/is a common problem.

                          But - hey - I know why I don't overclock.
