  • Flight Simulator FS9 & G400 Max

When I try to run Microsoft Flight Simulator FS9 - just released - it tells me that my 3D acceleration will be diabled because I don't have the latest drivers. I currently have GMax 400 card (32 MB) - I know, not the latest card - and 6.82 drivers. The only other nwewr driver I see is 6.83 beta. Will it do the trick when I download this driver ?

I suspect the situation is not too good ....

      From ms site
      System Requirements
      ...
      * DirectX 9 or later (included with Microsoft Flight Simulator: A Century of Flight)
      * Video card: 8 MB/3D with DirectX 7.0 or later drivers
      ...
And I guess by saying DirectX 7.0 they mean that it requires one dx7 feature that g400 lacks - hardware transform & lightning. If yes, this wouldn't be so very uncommon these days. G400 is just old. Perhaps 3dAnalizer would do the trick...(search on this forum for info on it)
Eventually check if you have latest dx 9.0 too...

Thanks. No, everything is fine about my set-up. I posted this question on the Matrox tech support site and got the answer right away - Microsoft screwed up it display.cfg file in this game. With a simple edit of this text file I am running fine.
