  • Flat panel FPS

When using a flat panel say with an update of 25ms. EG my Dell 1800FP

1/25 ms is 40FPS ideally. Max res normally of 1280x1024.

Surely you wouldn;t be able to tell the difference between a parhlelia and a R9700 in games. if you can;t see the difference between 40fps and 80fps?

    Am i correct?

Well the fps rate just shows you your effective fps including ghosting from the pixels switching. Don't forget that LCDs normally have a screen refresh up date of 60Hz, so thats the limit without getting tearing artifacts (assuming vsync is disabled.. enabled and it'll lock at 60fps if the card can keep up).
With it disabled you could probabyl tell the differance, but it'll get more smeared looking as the lcd can't keep up with the fast frame updates.
