  • So long R0M but NOT Surround Gaming ...

    Read this ...

    Haig says ...

You folks should get out of panic mode and listen to what I am saying.
WE ARE NOT DROPPING SG GAMING PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't think he could make it any clearer ... time will tell.

In the mean time to all those negative heads always looking for something to have a go at ... SG is awesome (try it before you dump on it) and if you are a true gamer you would not be looking for the negative in such a brilliant innovation...
What you should be doing is telling the world just how good SG is ... so that more gamers and developers take notice and then GAMING gets better for ALL.

Paddy, I figured I'd pop in here in case I get banned from the Matrox forums.

Haig has clearly stated that SG gaming shall continue.

At the same time, look in the SG forum and show me where the "support gurus" are actually giving solutions, as opposed to more questions. R0M was an intrumental part of keeping me happy over there, and with him gone, something has changed there, namely the fact that now we seem to be supporting ourselves.

Potential Parhelia customers ask questions and get no answers. How foolish is that? Before I bought a Parhelia, I went there. I got answers, and then I decided to buy the card. I doubt I'd do the same now considering they probably wouldn't respond to me in the first place.

The underlying change I see is that R0M used to answer everything he could, and give us an idea of what may be coming down the pipe, overall just keeping the excitement for SG right up.

Now, after all my involvement over there, I say this and get the response:

    "Quote:
(Me) Too bad R0M is apparently bound to silence in this forum, eh?

    (Haig)
    Matt,

upto now, we have been tolerant of your false accusations. However, you will leave me no choice of banning you from our forums if you keep this up. "

Sorry, that's not my idea of customer service, especially when I post PILES of fixes for games that Matrox should already have the fixes for.

The change in tone there suggests reduced interest in retaining their SG customers. That's only my opinion, and Haig has stated otherwise. Time will tell, as you've said... Hopefully it tells me my hunch is wrong.

Your input is very much appreciated but that does not give you carte blanch to post false accusations.

As I said, tech supp will participate in threads regarding issues with supported SG games that are in our catalogue while at the sametime, tech supp is not in the business of posting SG news.

Potential Parhelia customers ask questions and get no answers. How foolish is that?
      Show me.

Hi Haig. Don't worry, I'm trying my best to be calm and not post false things anywhere

Here's two threads for example. Before you get mad, I posted my response in the 128/256 one before we had our little "meeting of minds"

Your 1st link was posted on September 18.

Your 2nd link was posted on Spetember 10.

Tech Supp took over that forum as of September 22. I'll make sure Omie sees what you think of him

You just posted false accusations again.

What do you mean? There's no responses to the questions, are there?

Your 1st post was indicating that ever since Omar left, tech supp has been ignoring potential clients which isn't the case.

When we have the time, we will go thru the period where Omie had the forum and do our best to provide answers to his un-answered posts, provided they are related to tech supp and our SG catalog.

              Regards

                Hi Dex,
I hear what you are saying an largely agree ...

R0M was a great help and certainly kept the excitement for SG right up as you say ....
I will definitely miss that and I think Matrox are wrong NOT to have someone doing the great job that R0M did. However, it is unfortunately not our company and we don't seem to have a say in the matter.

I also understand what you are saying when you say...
The change in tone there suggests reduced interest in retaining their SG customers.
I can only hope as you that the hunch is wrong.

All we can do is see what happens ... I can't believe that such a brilliant idea would not embraced by the whole gaming community ... if they just could experience it.

May be as Haig says ... we are panicking ... we shall see .......................
