yes you have to use or spray it on yourself that thing(in the hunters dead body or his inventory) in you inventory that gives of a certain sent and then the rankor leaves you alone. You should have picked up that item in the sewer. I cant remember the exact name as it was ages ago since I completed the game. Great though isn't it
Get the scent that'll attract the rancor. Go to the pile of dead bodies in the room, without engaging the rancor. There should be some frag granades in the bodies, if not put one in along with the scent. Behold the removal of the rancor!
Or you can just piss him off, and go back up into the tunnel and pick him off with blasters.
I had played the game without companions all the way to the forcefield in the sewers, because I like playing RPGs solo for the increased XP you get if you're alone.
What I had missed was that the XP was equally distributed to the whole party anyways, so all I did were to make it harder. Lots harder.

If I remember correctly, in KotOR, the XP is the same for everyone in the party. i.e. If you kill a Rakghoul for 30xp, then everyone in your party gets 30xp. It doesn't get split. But only those you have got in your "collection" (those you've met and works with you) get it, even if they are at base camp.
I know.
I found that out after I had soloed down there and needed to have that Mission girl with me. It was way fun though with the increased difficulty.
Right now I'm playing BG2 as well with a solo Monk. It's wicked fun. He's almost invincible now and I'm only in the drow city sofar.
BTW, NWN XP2 Hordes of the Underdark are released today.
More RPG fun.
EDIT: Spoony local gameshop cited the wrong date. Correct NWN XP2 should be 2 Dec.
Stopped playing Knights of the Old Replublic 'til Matrox can get their heads out of their arses and fix their drivers. It crashed on me, so I just removed it.
Been thinking I still need to win the original NWN campaign.....
Leech
Wah! Wah!
In a perfect world... spammers would get caught, go to jail, and share a cell with many men who have enlarged their penises, taken Viagra and are looking for a new relationship.
Leech just turn shadows off, this solves the crashing and some visual artifacts.
I must say this is a exellent game so far, the best RPG I have ever played.
The storyline is awesome (better than the latest Star Wars movies). Interesting side quests, mini games, etc and the game has a high replay value (playing as a light side Jedi atm).
