FarCry demo released

I am downloading it now. A little birdie told me about a link that I am currently getting @ 200k/s. Try not to spread the link around too much. I wanted to share it with my MURC family though

From what I've read, the game is "the best looking game out there right now". I can't wait to see it and play it.

Thought I'd post some screenshots.

9700 Pro, 1024x768, noAA noAF, everything maxed except textures which are set to medium instead of very high. It looks even better in game.

Played it yesterday after d/ling from fp. Pretty about covers it.

Not really that impressed myself for the following reasons.

Feels very floaty, AI is retarded, looks very CGI, sounds are awful, the grenade throwing is a joke and the kick and lack of sound from the MP5 is ridiculous when compared to the other guns.

Ok, well it's totally FUBAR'd, guess it's a Parhelia driver thing.

edit: Apparently the temp fix is to add:

e_fog="0"
d3d9_VBPools = "0"

to the systemcfg.lua file.

Isn't this also the fix for Nvidia cards?

I remembered where I saw it. Over at FS. This is what they said...

Tech Warning:Those of you with NVIDIA cards *must* enable Fog Table Emulation in order to play the game, otherwise you're going to see a lot of blue.

have u guys tried this game in sg? if it has the support? or didnt bother cuz of the lack of speed on the parhelia. if u guys tried sg and its not possible then Iwont botehr dling the game :/

Far Cry Demo thoughts...
Good: nice eye candy
Bad: erratic sound.....can't hear enemies gunfire..sometimes...
Good: fun
Bad: checkpoint save system (no quick-saving)..Grrrr....
Good: uhh....checkpoint save system....challenging!
Bad: pretty short
Good: I liked it and will likely get the game in March

anyone else getting texture problems with a 9700 PRO? I get funky looking triangles in the game on the shark and rocks at times. I'm using the lastest driver 4.10 IIRC?
