Listen, guys, I don't really mean to offend anyone, but I had another idea in mind. The way you put them on 3 screens doesn't feel like such a good idea. The games weren't made to be like that, the hud is, weird, the sides seem like wasted, and you probably wouldn't look to the sides as much - there's little info there and the most action takes place in the middle.
Well anyways... What I thought you guys could do was to take games with max rez's of 1600 x 1200 and make them more like 3200 x 2400. I just wanted games to render images with more resolution, for crisper quality. I haven't actually played 1600 x 1200, but I'm sure that 3200 x 2400 is gonna feel A LOT better.
Well... uhmmm... two screens SUCK on playing games. I'll tell you why, since I'm such a nice guy.
Imagine, having two monitors in front of you. You boot up your favorite First person shooter. Look at that, the crosshair is right in the middle of the screen! It's like playing with a projector that is shining on someone's ass! And you're forced to shoot at things you think might be in his crack!
Trust us experienced Surround Gamers. Three screens is not a waste. Think of it this way, with a racing game... in real life, you would look through your windshield and through your right and left mirrors. This is possible in a racing game on three monitors. It is very immersive. Before I bought my three monitors, I had just a second one, and got that butt-crack effect, and it was impossible to play any FPS games. Now on the other hand, Neverwinter Nights played ok on it. But then again, your character was right in the middle of the screen on that too. So once again, quite annoying.
Really, I have to wonder if this is a joke referring to that Tom's Hardware review of "surround" gaming? Since the nVidiots and ATI groups can't have more than two monitors running the same game...

Guy, I'm not even talking about two or three screens, I'm talking about one. I was thinking maybe of buying a 3200 x 2400 monitor, but if games won't hold that kind of resolution, why buy it? And if you want widescreen, why don't you just buy one monitor with 1920 x 1200 resolution (by ratio). So anyways... what got my attention was that someone told me you can make games with higher resolution. I thought of it just like a way of decreasing the dot pitch. Instead of playing on a triple monitor, why not just play on a 22 inch widescreen LCD?
Sure, you'll want a Parhelia HR256, it supports up to 3840 x 2400. The regular Parhelia, ATI Radeon 9800 cards, and nVidia GeForce FX cards only go up to 2048x1536.
Oh, nVidia's workstation cards, like the Quadro FX ones can also go up to 3840x2400.
