Sacred UK version...

I'm trying to figure out, being in the USA, where I could order the UK version of Sacred... since some morons decided that the USA version shouldn't have any blood and gore... Anyone have a good place to buy imported games from? (without it costing me a crapload for it....)

D'oh! Was reading on their forums about problems with this game... apparently the 1.6 patch that just came out blocks Daemon Tools... which in itself is not a bad thing.. but they blacklisted SCSI CD-ROMS in general, which Daemon Tools emulates. Which again, is not neccesarily a bad thing... assuming that you don't have ONLY SCSI in your computer... which I do, which IS bad. Freakin' morons. Well, looks like perhaps I won't buy this game until they've worked out the bugs... too bad, it looks pretty sweet..

To enable gore mode, browse to your Sacred folder (under program files\ascaron) and edit the setting.cfg file with notepad. Change the value:

Violence: 2

to

Violence: 1

That does the trick. They worked so hard on all that pleasing gore, people should be able to enable it.

I installed and updated to 1.5 yesterday and had no problems enabling the gore. IIRC, I had to do the opposite of what Fleabit suggested (Switch violence=1 to violence=2 instead of the other way around).

There were flying limbs and spurting blood galore!

I believe the trick was disabled in patch 1.6

So is this game any good? Have they sorted out multiplayer problems?

the game IS good if you are into diablo clones, but they haven´t fixed all the bugs yet, and there seems to be alot of multiplayer-cheaters (even on the closed servers).

I mainly play singleplay/coop with my neighbours(sp?), so I havn´t experienced the cheating firsthand.
