OK, I want to try this game in widescreen on my HDTV. Could someone tell me how I can do this?
do i just type this in at the console?
seta r_mode "-1"
seta r_customwidth "2400"
seta r_customheight "600"
Can I substitute 2400 with 3072, and substitute 600 with 768 for higher resolutions? Anything I should do?
Thanks!

Run the game once so it creates the DoomConfig.cfg ... edit it so it has those lines ... use the resolutions of your HDTV instead of the 2400 and the 600.
Also RichieG over on the Matrox forum has posted ...
Hey Guys,
Found a fix for the FOV in Surround Gaming mode.
Do this:
CTRL+ALT+ ~
This will bring down the console
Then type the following
g_fov 143
... but you should choose a FOV to suit your HDTV ...My Systems :
Athlon 64 FX-55, 580W-Tagan SLi, Asus A8N SLi Deluxe, 2 x 74Gb WD Raptor 10K RPM RAID, 2 GB Corsair TwinX-XL, 2 x 512Mb PCI-E GF7800GTX SLI, SB Audigy2, Dell 2405FPW.

To get FOV to remain fixed try adding the seta g_fov "143" to the target in the Doom3 desktop shortcut properties
".... \Doom 3\Doom3.exe" seta g_fov "143"My Systems :

I don't know ...
You could do a search on the net for your HDTV to see what resolution it runs at...
or you could try 1280 x 768 and see what happens.... this is what the Viewsonic 30" NextVision runs at.
Here are some widescreen resolutions you could try ...
2560 x 1600
2048 x 1280
1920 x 1200
1280 x 800
1024 x 640My Systems :

HDTV is about 2 screens wide so your FOV will need to be a little smaller then 143.2 x Opteron 270 • Tyan K8WE • 8Gb Kingston HyperX • 2 x BFG 7900GTX SLI • Matrox TH2G • Areca SATA RAID • 4 x WD RaptorX RAID6 • Creative X-FI Elite Pro • Klipsch 5.1 Ultra • PC P&C 1KW PSU • 3 x Samsung 19" LCD • The System is Fully Water Cooled

Thanks for the help Paddy. I used 2400x600 and that worked. It was a little off but not too bad. I'll fool with it later. BTW, I tested it on ultra settings in that resolution and I got 42fps. Now if I can only get the sound to work.
