  • GuildWars screens at 2x2 and 4x1 config

it took a Matrox QID PRO 256MB PCI-X (not express) which has 4 DVI outputs. then take 19" TFTs that can display 1280x1024 32bit each and choose the right display configuration with 2.x drivers.

    and you get:

    2560x2048 as 2x2 config

    and

    4096x768 as 4x1 config

thanks matrox for the 2.x drivers
will try out support of other games soon.

It’s neat ... only problem is your center point is the crack between two middle screens.

@Marshmallowman: actually i cheated if i make high res screen shots i only have 2 tfts in the middle and simply no other screen on the other outputs since the 2.x drivers emulate one display at that resolution. (in windows there is a monitor generated with e.g. 4096x768)
if i do use 4 outputs i can use idependent mode and plug on the output different monitors.
as for the card i got it new from ebay and was a very goog deal.

@RUS007 i totaly agree. 4x1 is not made for gaming because of the monitor speration. but 3x1 of course works too. but in gw you could at least configure the display elements to one screen in 4x1.

          Hi waldwolf,

I wander how QID compares to Parhelia when playing games on 3 screens? Any chance you could give DOOM3 or FarCry a try? These 2 bring my Parhelia to its knees.
