It was a copy. I was going to buy it but had concerns about my systems ability to run it decently and a mate offered me a copied dvd of it.

Yeah the game will probably be selling at retail price for a year or two, but I don't plan on upgrading my graphics card for a year or two yet anyway seeing as I'd have to jump to PCI-E which is new mobo, new CPU etc and a lot of expense for the luxury of one crash-happy game.

The Elder Scrolls games have all been known for being very open and very good Role-Playing Games. But they've also been known for their bugs. Hell, Daggerfall was probably one of THE best role-playing games ever made for the PC, but it was so terribly bug ridden at times I couldn't even bring myself to play it (never did finish that one). Morrowind was a lot better, but had it's share of bugs as well. Oblivion is a lot bigger than what Morrowind seemed, but it also has a lot more bugs to it.

Daggerfall was some good times, especially when you were first starting a character, and you didn't have the recall spell. You'd have to spend hours going into the randomly created dungeons and then spend another few hours trying to figure your way out. Too bad they did away with those random dungeons, they were quite fun. That and the way they mapped the dungeons was way beyond what they do now (with a flat 2D map). I wish someone would create a mod that did the mapping and the random dungeons for Oblivion.

I have discovered a few things since I created a new character. My first character was a Spellsword, I had heavy armor, and could cast a mean fireball. But I usually would die if there were multiple opponents.

With my second character, I decided to go the route of a custom character, with Sneak, Mercantile, Armorer, etc. No combat skills, just non-combat ones. Oddly enough I kill things quite quckly. In fact if I can get a sneak attack with my sword (Dwarven Longsword) I can do 6x damage and kill quite a few things in one hit! I did recently run into a Spriggan and it kicked my trash, but most fights I wander into, yes even ones with multiple creatures, I do quite well. Now I have boots of sneaking and boots of water walking. Oh the decisions of what to wear!! Well, my character is a woman, so....
