I played the first level and I have to say, KICK ASS! I'm a little way into the second level. Scary!

The first level has some really cool scripted events along with lots of puzzles. I'm goad they put more puzzles in.
Ladies and gentlemen, take my advice, pull down your pants and slide on the ice.

I will tell you, hopefully tomorrow..To me I think it is worth the $20 to give it a shot.. I spend more than that on cable tv in a month, which I barely watch

I think it is worth the money so far. BTW, the third level(lowlife) is scary, not the second. Pretty much non stop action. I'm more than half way though.

Well, I ordered it. From Amazon. I already had it pre-loaded and whatnot, but it makes no sense that I can get an online copy for $20, or get the DVD shipped to me for $17. Valve cuts out the middleman, removes the cost of packaging and distribution, and charges MORE? Asinine.

And if you have a Fry's anywhere near you, I hear the DVD is only $13.

Downloaded last night. Not going to be able to try it for a while though.

played a bit at my bro's house. He finished it in less than 6 hours on hard difficulty, was disappointed. Story and environment not as good as HL2 apparently. He is an excellent fps player though.

Don't have HL2 but figured what the heck, it's only $20... and got motion sick within minutes of playing.
Can't figure out why I can (or rather, used to) play Counter-Strike for hours without any problems while other games are pure torture...

I get a litte sick sometimes as well. I hear it is the angle of view that messes people up. There is a .ini setting that you can change the view to be like HL1(or most other games from what I understand). I think HL2 is 170 degrees and HL1 is something like 150 degrees, but that is just a guess.

Here is what one person said:

"It's the tunnel effect; the view angle is only 75, while the other games have 90 degrees."

                              Here is your fix:

Its all down to the Field of Vision Valve have used, its set at 75, while nearly ALL other games are set at 90.....

All you have to do to stop it (worked for me) is go into the games console, and type

                              sv_cheats 1
                              default_fov 90
                              fov 90

This then sets the field of vision to 90, and the sickness will go away
