NFS4 and G200

Anybody know WHY G200 not support fog effect in Need for Speed 4 ?????????????????????????????????????????????????? ?????????????????????????????????????????????????? ?????????????????????????????????

HAve u tried to edit 3dsetup.dat(with some text editing tool like notepad)?
You should try to change some values, that might help!

GOT IT WORKING !!!!!!

It was a missing link in the registry, as I suspected all the time...

for those with the same problems and/or corrupted files problems, check the registry at HKEY_LOCAL_COMPUTER\Software\Electronic Arts\3D Data\Card6

If the only values you have are Group "d3d" and Module "d3d" then add the value Name "Matrox G200" to this part of the register.

Exit the register, reboot Windows and start the 3Dsetup.exe in the 3DSetup directory of NFS:HS. It will now detect the Matrox G200 card and you may press OK.

The game will now start without any problems!!!

This also works for NFSIII...

Micko, try this to turn on the foggy headlights: Instead of Vertex Headlights, use Projected Headlights instead...

And:

1) You must use the brightest lights (as in off, on, bright) to see the fog.
2) You'll see this under overpasses & in foggy/dusty surroundings only. (so, not in the woods)
3) If you use projected headlights in night-driving you see further away.
