g200 and Dungeon keeper 2

there is a problem playing Dungeon Keeper 2.
Installation goes correctly. But when i am trying to start the game
-- black screen, no intro, nothing. Only reset helps to turn my comp back to life.
If anyone knows what's the problem, please let me know.

win98se
g200 8mb sdram (bios 2.3-11, pd 5.13, also i tried 4.51)
amd 266 (stands on 300)
mb asus sp98agp-x
64 ram
sb live value (latest drivers)

You aren't trying to run it in 32-bit mode, are you? That won't work, except in certain resolutions, on the TNT/TNT2. Every other card has issues with it.

Also, if you don't have (or didn't let it install) DirectMedia 6.1 and DirectX/DIrect3D 6.1, the game won't run. Go to the CD and into the DirectX and DirectMedia directories and double check that you have those versions.

2. in win98se there already is directx 6.1

No, I mean did you let it install DirectMEDIA 6.1? (Not included in Win98SE). The first thing it tries to do is run a movie...

Dungeon keeper asks for installation of directx 6.1, but win98se already has it, and anyway it can't be installed, because win98 doesn't let it. Install program says "operation system on ur computer is not currently supported"

I may just be barking up the wrong tree, but humor me. Go onto the CD, and see if there's a folder called "DirectMedia". If so, run the installer and see what happens. Let me know.
