Hi Folks !
Wanna try a Q2 map that has really big textures ?
There is a special S3TC level available here:
http://www.s3content.com/quake2/mon2.exe
That one contains two timedemos ...
All you have to do is extract it to your Q2 dir, delete/rename that given OpenGL32.dll (it tries to enable TextureCompression on S3 cards) and off ya go.
Note that you'll need quite a lot gfx-ram or at least a decent AGP-card, but be prepared for some 'advertising' and a bit too colorfull textures.
It runs very impressive on my G400 with 32MB RAM, but I'd like to know if even a G200 AGP can handle that one ...
The demo names can be found in your Q2 demos folder.
Best thing is that I'm no longer annoyed by those well known 4 regular standard benchmarks ... I hope I can find some scores from a S3 card.

Cheerio,
Maggi
I used to have some posts in my record and hopefully some of the guys 'n' girls will still know me and my system ...
